I don’t care if Monday’s blue
Tuesday’s grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don’t care about you
It’s Friday I’m in love
Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Thursday doesn’t even start
It’s Friday I’m in love
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday never hesitate…
Let’s face it: any writing career is tough. There’re so many processes involved…brainstorming, editing, rewriting, promoting. It almost discourages you to simply think of these tasks alone. But to add to the stress, the average writer probably has kids to take care of, bills upon bills to pay, plus a house to tend. It’s rough.
But what about the younger writers? Those teen writers who’ve just shoved off the beach of ease and into the oceans of hardships and decisions? What sort of problems do they face?
Actually, they come in contact with identical problems. The only difference is that they’re unaccustomed to the problems they have to endure.
Note: That cover is so beautiful that I can’t stop staring at it!
Summary (taken from Goodreads): Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.
Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.
Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.
But when Cara’s classmates get swept up by anti-L’eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn’t safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara’s locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.
Book wanderings is a little thing I like to do where I visit different places and take pictures of one or more books in those places. This is actually an idea I got from All The Bright Places (this book is awesome btw, go read it if you haven’t already!) where Violet and Finch would travel around Indiana to discover the “natural wonders” of their state as part of a school project and Finch would call those little travels, wanderings. So, here are my first two book wanderings, the first one to beach about half an hour drive from where I live and the second one to a small river with a bridge close to a village I visited last May.
Note: I take all the photos myself. Enjoy!

This time I’m talking about Steve Aoki collaborating with Fall Out Boy to release “Back To Earth”, a song that I fell in love with right away after hearing it from the first time. What I didn’t realize at the time, however, was that it was Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump singing, which is really embarrassing for me considering how much I love FOB and that I’ve had this song in my phone for months now and have practically heard it a thousand times. So imagine my surprised when I logged in my twitter account this morning and saw a tweet by Fall Out Boy announcing the release of the video of that same song, featuring them AND Steve Aoki! So after doing a little research and realizing my huge ignorance I went back to listen to the song again with a fresh ear and watch the amazing futuristic video that goes with it!
“It was an absolute honor working with my close friends Fall Out Boy on this song and video. This was such an action packed video and an integral piece to Neon Future,” Aoki says of the clip.
To be honest, I was a bit surprised with the whole theme of the video at first, but it was in a good way and no one can argue that the boys look great in it. So if you haven’t watched it already, don’t waste time! Go do it right now!
One more thing: There’s been a little confusion about the video on youtube, due to it having been posted in June and no one seeing it until yesterday. So for those of you who are wondering why that is, it’s because the video is unlisted on youtube for some reason and you can only view it through a link, since it won’t appear on search engines.
Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did! 🙂
So many amazing books coming out this year by so many great and talented writers that I don’t even know where to start! But I guess I’ll start with the one I want to read the most:
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
Pages: 656 (hardcover)
Expected publication: September 1st 2015
Summary: Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past . . .
She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.
Celaena’s epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.
My thoughts: Yes, yes and yes! Heir of Fire was such an amazing read! It seems to me that Sarah J. Maas improves as a writer with every book she writes and Celaena is such a badass and one of my favourite heroines ever! I can’t wait to continue with this series!
The Rose Society by Marie Lu
Pages: 416 (hardcover)
Expected publication: October 13th 2015
Summary: Once upon a time, a girl had a father, a prince, a society of friends. Then they betrayed her, and she destroyed them all.
Adelina Amouteru’s heart has suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she and her sister flee Kenettra to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked soldiers that murdered her love, the Crown Prince Enzo Valenciano.
But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to the good within her. But how can someone be good, when her very existence depends on darkness?
My thoughts: I’ve only read a few chapters of the first book but they were so interesting chapters! And being a huge fan of Marie Lu after the amazing Legend trilogy I have no doubt it will turn out to be an awesome read. I’ll probably end up reading both books together and I will not be surprised if it’s in one or two sittings either. Can’t wait!
