Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you’re all surrounded by family and love today! Unfortunately we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here but I love the idea of it so I figured writing a small blog post to list a few things I’m thankful for would be nice! I could probably write hundreds of things I’m thankful for but since that would be rather inconvenient for both me and you, I’m just going to write down the first 10 things that pop into mind!
I feel very lucky to say that I have an amazing family that loves and supports me! I know that’s not the case for everyone so I cherish every moment I spend with them! I’m grateful for my grandma’s cooking, and for my other grandma’s tendency to stuff my bag with treats whenever I visit her, I’m grateful for my cousins who are like sisters to me and who always give me plenty of reasons to laugh, I’m grateful for my grandfather who never said no to driving me around and who is not with us anymore but will always hold a very special place in my heart, I’m grateful for my uncles who always bring plenty of gifts when they visit us from the US and I’m grateful for all my extended family who always spends holidays with us and shares our happiness. But most of all I’m grateful for my two amazing parents who have always given me all the help and support I needed and who rarely say no to me! I also have to mention that I owe my love for reading to my dad (he’s the other bookworm in the family) so I’m extremely grateful to him for that too! I wouldn’t be the person I am today without him!
My best friend
I would truly be lost without her! She’s the most important person in my life outside my family and she’s the one person that completely understands me and always puts up with my craziness! She’s also a huge reader so there’s plenty of fangirling involved every time we’re together and she writes too so I can always talk to her about my ideas and ask for inspiration! And I couldn’t be more grateful to have someone to share my passions with and above all to have someone who is always there for me whenever I need it!
I’ve had my pug for 13 years now (ever since I was ten) and I simply can’t imagine my life without him! He always keeps me company when I’m alone in the house and always makes me laugh with all the stupid things he does to draw my attention! They say pets make our life whole and I couldn’t agree more! I’m grateful for every year I get to spend with mine and even though he’s been giving us a hard time now that he’s older, I wouldn’t trade him for all the puppies in the world!
My book collection
Obviously! You saw that coming didn’t you? My book collection is probably not as large as others but I’ve loved watching it grow over the years and I’m very grateful for all the books I’ve managed to buy and especially the books that have been given to me! Books always make me happy and make me lose myself in amazing, fictional worlds and I’m very grateful for all the things they’ve taught me over the years! I’m also very grateful for my “reading spot” which is my favorite place in the house and for my white shelves that hold my collection and were actually a gift from my parents!
More importantly the people who make up bookstagram. I’ve met so many amazing people on there and made so many friends and I couldn’t be more grateful about it! They always make my day and make me smile and I’m so happy that I’m a part of this amazing community and get to share my passion for reading and photography with so many others! And that’s far more important than any number of likes and followers!
Harry Potter was my entire childhood! It wasn’t the first book that introduced me to reading but it was the first book that really got me into it and one of the first fantasy series I ever read so it will always have a special place in my heart! It gave me the opportunity to enter an amazing magical world and taught to look for magic in the real world too and I could never adequately express how much this series mean to me! I never say no to re-watching the movies or rereading the books and they always make me feel better no matter what! So I’m very grateful to these books for all the magic they’ve brought into my life and to the amazing J.K. Rowling for writing them!
Like I’ve already said, book boxes are what I like to call Christmas every month! I absolutely love receiving them and they never fail to put a smile on my face! There are so many book boxes that I love but I have to mention Owlcrate and The Bookish Box which I’m currently repping for! I’m so grateful to Korrina and Justine for giving me the amazing opportunity to work with them and for keeping me on for so long and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to book box owners in general for all the effort they put into making these boxes as amazing as possible for all of us!
I’m lucky enough to have been able to visit several places in the world (including London, Paris, Italy and the US) and I’m very grateful for all the amazing experiences I’ve had in those places! I’m hoping there will be plenty more to come but right now I’m grateful for the ones I’ve had so far!
Life wouldn’t be the same without pancakes for me! They’re my favorite thing to eat for breakfast (and dinner too!) and I’m so grateful they exist and I have learned how to make them because unfortunately they’re not easily found here! And while we’re at it let’s take a moment to be grateful for the existence of maple syrup too because pancakes simply wouldn’t be pancakes without it!
The most wonderful time of the year is almost here and I couldn’t be more grateful and excited about it! I love the fact Christmas gives me the opportunity to spend more time with family, I love buying presents and I love all the other Christmas traditions too! It’s a holiday that truly makes me thankful to be here and to be with my family (even more than Thanksgiving!) so I had to mention it here! And who doesn’t love Santa Claus?
And of course I’m grateful for all of you who have been following my blog and sharing this experience with me! I know I’ve been kind of MIA again lately (November has been a very busy month) but I’m really hoping to get back on track in December! Until then, have a wonderful day!
